Flat Earth Movement Gaining Momentum

(CitizensOutpost) Even in the 21st century, the debate over the shape of the earth doesn’t seem to have lost any steam.  The rise of the internet and social media has propelled a quest for knowledge in fields that the average person would assume was a closed case.  A quick search on YouTube for “flat earth” will yield a surprising number of results, many of which have gathered a plethora of viewership.  Amidst a wide spectrum of these flat earth videos, some include home experiments, physics lessons, field trips and sermons that all purport to explain the rationale that the shape of the earth isn’t what is commonly taught from the mouth of modern science.

Although the International Flat Earth Research Society has existed since 1956, a modern resurgence of flat earth research is coming from people of different backgrounds and professions.  Some of the more notable researchers on this topic include Eric Dubay, Rob Skiba, and Mark Sargent.  All of which have prominent YouTube channels with respective compilations of their research.

Dubay’s research comes from a secular perspective with his most popular video having garnered over a million views.  The video and description are noted below:

200 Flat Earth Proofs in under 2 hours! The largest collection of supposed “spinning ball Earth proofs” I can find from NASA is 10, all of which are debunked in the following video. So here is 20x the amount of proofs your government has ever given you that you are NOT living on a spinning ball planet. Please sit your friends and family down to watch this most important documentary and help share this on all your social media accounts so we can wake humanity up to this greatest deception and mother of all conspiracies!

Rob Skiba, on the other hand, teaches with a combination of science and Christian theology.  One of his recent videos from a Flat Earth conference in Amsterdam summarizes some of the main points of his research.  Video and description are noted below:

I was recently asked to come and speak about flat Earth from a Biblical worldview in Amsterdam. This is Part 1 of the lecture that I gave on February 17, 2017 in a venue called, The Milky Way (which was primarily a hip-hop/rap concert hall with several different stages). YHWH really does have a sense of humor. Especially when you consider the other “acts” that were performing in the rooms next to mine. LOL! Anyway… this lecture examines the issue of the flat Earth cosmology from a Biblical worldview. This video is an extended version of the actual talk I gave and includes quite a bit of new footage, slides and other visuals not shown that night in order to elaborate on what I was saying.

Additionally, Mark Sargent has created an easy to follow video playlist entitled “Flat Earth Clues.”  It serves as a great introduction to someone who has never entertained the idea of questioning the shape of the Earth.  Playlist and description are noted below:

Are we inside a Truman show enclosed world, thousands of miles wide? This is part of a series of videos that shows not only is it possible, but likely.

The Flat Earth awakening is the biggest story to hit this world in Millennia. I am humble to be just a part of this massive force of truth, one that’s going to change the world and how you live forever. This new site is dedicated to everything that is real and true about the place where you live, a place that has until now, been hidden from you. Join me in rediscovering the awesome power and potential of our civilization. Together we can take back the secrets and knowledge, and become great again.

There are many more public figures on social media that are stepping into the spot light to promote additional research on this topic, some of whom will be attending an upcoming Flat Earth International Conference which is scheduled for November of 2017.  According to the official website, the goal of the conference is to be

“an educational endeavor composed of individuals and organizations uniting around the common purpose of the true scientific inquiry of the created earth.”

and when asked “Why?”, their website notes:

Most people today subscribe to the espoused heliocentric globe model explanation of our cosmology, which contends that:

  • The earth spins at 1,040 miles per hour while traveling around the sun at 66,000 miles per hour;

  • meanwhile, the entire solar system moves through the milky way galaxy at 490,000 miles per hour

  • as the milky way galaxy darts through infinite space at over 1 million miles per hour

However, every experiment ever conducted to prove even the simple spin of the earth has failed!

Join us this November to learn why we dissent from the spinning heliocentric theory of cosmology. At the 2017 Flat Earth International Conference, we will uncover and debunk pseudo-scientific “facts” while presenting the true evidence which shockingly points to our existence on a flat, stationary plane.

This movement is also coinciding with a bout of celebrities who are either directly or inadvertently raising awareness to this topic.  As reported by the Washington Post, rap artist B.O.B. believes the Earth is flat and has massively tweeted about what he believes to be a massive conspiracy by NASA and other space agencies.  More recently, As reported by Sports Illustrated, Kyrie Irving was captured in an interview expressing his belief that the Earth is flat.

Given the rate of information that is being exchanged on the internet, the research on this topic may just be scratching the surface.  As independent researchers are able to catalog their experiments, data, and draw conclusions from a web of resources, this movement could be described as a sort of renaissance of independent thought.
